The Business of TRADE

TRADE covers a versatile range of services impacting on national and international trading opportunities with Jamaica and CARICOM. TRADE’s services may be divided into two main areas. These two areas are listed below respectively under the subheadings of Trading Services and Company Services. The lists are not exhaustive.

The services of TRADE may be employed to:

Trading Services
• liaise between importers/exporters to facilitate market access
• advice on penetration of overseas markets
• guide local exporters on managing market access opportunities
• assist on import/export compliance with international regulations
• provide industry bespoke training courses on compliance with international trading regulations
• assist local exporters with all types of compliance issues with international regulations
• When appropriate on behalf of trading clients offer representation to the Ministry of Foreign Trade regarding suspected breaches of international trade laws.
• encourage Regional traders to identify and capitalize on opportunities presented by the CARICOM Single Market (CSM)
• performing at all times under Jamaican law, act as corporate agent in inter- and intra-national commercial undertakings where there is a Jamaican interest.
• aid generally to facilitate and appreciate in value the commercial trading interest of our clients.
• generally to engage in the task of stimulating cross-border commerce.

• incorporation of Jamaican Companies
• obtaining Company Seal
• obtaining company Tax Registration Numbers
• obtaining Company Bank Accounts
• for TRADE formed companies, provide registered office address
• provide corporate Company Secretary
• engagement as Shadow Director
• pre-auditing for Companies Office filing requirements
• for companies newly formed in Jamaica - advising/assisting on applications for protection of Intellectual Property Rights.
